Engineering Program

Description: The Navy's Nuclear Engineering Program offers extensive training as nuclear power plant operators and technicians to young men and women who have aptitude in mathematics and science. Engineers will be responsible for researching, developing, designing, operating and maintaining the nuclear reactors that drive the most advanced fleet of submarines and aircraft carriers in the world. Training is approximately 18 months long in Charleston, SC and there is a 4 year contract obligation.

Special Skills & Requirements 1. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and between 17-27 years old. 2. Completion of at least one year of college algebra and calculus is required as well. 3. Degrees are strongly encouraged, but are not required and students that are currently enrolled can still apply. Qualifying applicants will be awarded a top secret security clearance and a signing bonus of $11,000. Every 3 years on the job a, $100,000 retention bonus is awarded in addition to the salary. Up to $65,000 of student loan repayment will be awarded as well, and applicants will receive 90 credits to apply to a bachelor's degree in engineering. uired
