Description: New York Blood Center is looking to add to our talented Per Diem Donor Relations Team. Per Diem Donor Relations Associates are the “first contact” employees at our blood donor centers and blood drives, responsible for interacting with blood donors and educating them about blood donation options. Our team assists with appointment scheduling, responding to comments/questions/concerns, donor check-in and feedback to colleagues and management. Assignments may be at Donor Centers or at blood drives throughout the community including business, schools and community organizations. Candidates are expected to provide outstanding customer service and be available to work throughout Queens and Nassau County.

|Special Skills & Requirements||Responsibilities and Qualifications:• Have a valid Driver's License and a reliable car. • Have a High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree. • Speak and write English fluently. A second language is an advantage (particularly Spanish). Able to perform in a fast-paced, donor-focused environment with multiple individuals at once Have excellent communication skills, which includes public speaking, and in particular, to be superb at social interaction whether it be face to face, on the telephone or in writing. Prior experience with customer service is preferred. Public Speaking experience a must. Demonstrated ability to think and work as a part of a team, to integrate with others and to show personal initiative when called for. A well developed sense of humor and a positive outlook are all good traits to have! Work a flexible schedule up to 19 hours a week. Will be required to work weekends, nights and holidays.|
