Respite Specialist

Description: The Respite Specialist will provide protective oversight to the individuals in the program. The respite specialist will engage the program participants in various activities of their choosing. Duties and Responsibilities: ? Responsible for providing high quality, person centered services – assisting individuals to maximize their independence, individuality, inclusion in the community, and productivity. ? Ensure participant health and safety in a therapeutic environment conducive to learning. ? Interact with and provide line of sight supervision for program participants. ? Submit all paperwork in a timely fashion on the dates designated by supervisor. ? Attend conferences, in-services, and informational meetings as assigned by supervisor to enhance and update job performance skills. ? Attend mandatory trainings ? Report all allegations of abuse, neglect or sensitive situations to your immediate supervisor immediately. ? Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Special Skills & Requirements Qualifications: ? A High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one year experience preferably working with individuals diagnosed with a developmental disability and also display challenging behaviors but not required or an Associates/ Bachelor’s degree in the Human Service field. ? The individual must have a working knowledge of the current regulations, policies, and protocols governing the delivery and documentation of services for individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. ? Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends
