Join the Student Conservation Association (SCA) as an Excelsior Conservation Corps (ECC) member in 2018! Check out our different teams! Mixed Stewardship (2 crews) - trail construction/maintenance, environmental restoration, invasive species removal, carpentry, chainsaw projects, GPS/GIS resource mapping Infrastructure & Sustainability (1 crew) [Begins Feb. 19] - building weatherization, historic preservation, solar panel and lighting retrofits, carpentry, masonry Surveying and Assessment (1 crew) - surveying for invasive species or habitat types, assessing culverts, GPS/GIS resource mapping Environmental Outreach & Education (1 crew) - interpretive education programming at campgrounds, nature centers, fairs/festivals; interpretive trail building and design; creating educational videos

Special Skills & Requirements Benefits: Selected corps members serve with 50 young adults on one of five teams. SCA will provide members free housing and all meals at SUNY Brockport, $180 per week, no-cost health insurance, and a $5,815 Segal Education Award. Members also receive a wide array of training.

About the Company: Created in 2015 as a Governor’s Initiative, the Excelsior Conservation Corps (ECC) is a ten-month residential AmeriCorps program that partners with the NYS Commission on National and Community Services, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and NYS O?ce of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYS OPRHP), and the NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation (NYSEFC). The ECC works on environmental stewardship projects on NYS DEC and NYS OPRHP public lands that result in the protection of natural resources, thus helping to sustain these resources over the long term for the benefit of the New York State community.
