Description: • Java Talk is a program designed for undergraduate CUNY women interested in learning more about a career in tech and computer science. Open to all majors–you should have an interest in exploring a path in computer science or tech. Java Talk provides undergraduate women at CUNY the opportunity to have a conversation with a professional in the tech and computer science space to learn more about a career in the field. • Java Talk consists of three 40-minute one-on-one mentoring sessions. Each participating student will meet at least one professional during the morning and an opportunity to sit in the waiting area to receive another session if a student is late or cancels. A breakfast before the program kicks off allows all professionals and students the opportunity to network and meet the entire community. • Learn about a career path in the tech sector • Participate in an open dialogue with an industry professional • Find out what you can do with a CIS major after college • Companies include: MeetUp, Etsy, AOL, Citi, Verizon, Accenture + more • Date: Tuesday, December 5, 2017 • Time: 8:00am—11:00am • Location: Baruch College, NVC 14-220; 55 Lexington Avenue ***Participation Timeline: • By Nov 13:RSVP to participate • Nov 14 -21: Select the practitioners you want to talk to • Nov 28: Receive your Java Talk match(es) • Dec 5: Attend Java Talk
