Education Specialist

Description: • Assisting in the Distance Learning and EIP Event Review processes in accordance with State regulations and/or program procedures for individual course and training organization reviews. • Training in assigned classroom or distance learning course offerings, assuring quality adult learning experiences, and compliance with applicable NYS laws, regulations and policies. • Assisting in the development of new course work materials and to assure standards of curriculum development remain intact and documents incorporate regulatory, policy and programmatic information and provide a quality learning experience for the intended audience. • Communicating with vendors and customers as needed and appropriate for a variety of purposes. • Assisting/collaborating with PDP management/staff to improve/expand a project/functional area through developing new resources, programs or other opportunities. • Other duties as assigned.

Special Skills & Requirements 1. Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in social services, early childhood, or related field. 2. Two (2) years of demonstrated competence in adult learning theory and practice. 3. Three (3) years of experience training adults. 4. Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally as well as write curriculum for adult learning situations. 5. Demonstrated experience with distance learning course delivery, development or evaluation. 6. Applicants must address in their applications their abilities to work with a culturally diverse population. 7. Ability to travel regularly throughout NYS and locally, including travel to areas not served by public transportation, in order to plan and deliver trainings, conduct technical assistance, participate in meetings, present at conferences, and to transport supportive materials. 8. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. 9. Experience with Microsoft Office (including Word, Access, Excel and Outlook).
