Computer Support Technician

Description: • Established and growing company seeks full/part-time Computer Technicians to provide level-1 tech support by phone & Internet. • Responsibilities include fielding technical support calls; using the Linux command line interface on a daily basis to access remote PCs and troubleshoot issues; configuring & testing POS units & peripherals; traveling to customer sites to perform maintenance. • Three full-time shifts Mondays-Fridays include 6am-2pm, 8am-4pm & 3pm-11pm. • Part-time positions are also available. • Please note that weekend on-call work will be required about once a month. • All relevant training will be provided.

Salary $15-$18/hr, plus MetroCard

Special Skills & Requirements • Must have or be currently seeking a degree in Computer Science or IT related studies • Experience with LINUX and/or command line interfaces • Bilingual, proficient in BOTH English & Spanish • Quick learner. *Additional Pluses: • Previous phone-based support experience • Know how to use vim, ssh, grep, netstat, find, traceroute, etc • Know the basics of SQL queries / Mysql • Know how to touch type
