Certified Group Teacher

Description: • Overall operations of the classroom—including weekly lesson planning, maintaining a healthy and safe environment, and engaging in developmentally appropriate practices that support STEM. • Working with the Assistant Teacher and Teacher’s Aide in the classroom to enhance best practices. • Adequately supervising all children, scheduling and facilitating parent-teacher conferences, and maintaining accurate and timely educational records of the children. • Implementation and execution of the Creative Curriculum, adhering to Head Start Performance Standards and Regulations, and complying with Article 47 Regulations of the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. • Data entry of Child Observations (based on individual child strengths) and utilization of Teaching Strategies GOLD to monitor and analyze children’s growth and development throughout the program year. • Completion of child assessments 3 times per program year based on Teaching Strategies GOLD Objectives for Development & Learning. • Ensuring that the classroom environment is warm, welcoming, and structured for optimizing children’s growth and development.
