Description: The Group Sales intern will have an incredible opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the group sales/tourism industry. In this role, the intern will: •Receive the same training that a group sales representative receives •Shadow group sales representatives •Gain insight into to DTG group sales strategy •Potentially attend a trade show in the New York area The foundation of success with any aspect of business is sales; even if you are not directly selling a product or service, everyone will encounter times in which they sell themselves or their ideas to a superior or potential partner in a business setting. The intern will be able to see and understand first-hand what it takes to be a successful salesperson. They will gain valuable networking contacts, learn new practical skills, and build upon current competencies. Responsibilities The intern will be assigned multiple projects throughout the summer with the overall focus on business strategy. The key projects may include but not be limited to: •Conducting market research of other group sales agencies within sport, theatre, and entertainment industries •Identifying the strengths and weakness of the Broadway group’s sales industry and other group sales agencies across all markets •Analyzing the group sales industry, identifying new methods to reach key demographics, and ultimately developing and proposing campaign ideas for DTG to stand out in the competitive landscape •Conducting market research on sales campaigns in order to properly design an incentive program for a certain segment of the group sales market

Special Skills & Requirements Additional Information Program Qualifications: •Must be at least 18 years of age •Must possess unrestricted work authorization •Must provide full work availability from May 31, 2016 through August 12, 2016 •Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work.
