Description: • Updating the Division’s (Case) databases and reviewing and evaluating "Access" databases • Research closed case folders and enable the entry of closing remarks and dispositions into the aforementioned databases as it relates to Legal Aid and DOI Complaint Reports • general clerical duties including photocopying, fax and mailing • maintain electronic and hard copy filing system • handle requests for information and data • resolve administrative problems and inquiries • prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails • record, compile, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings • coordinate and maintain records for staff • Draft memos • Perform other duties as assigned

About the Company: The DOC provides for the care, custody, and control of persons accused of crimes or convicted and sentenced to one year or less of jail time. The DOC currently manages 15 inmate facilities, 10 of which are located on Rikers Island. In addition, DOC operates two hospital Prison Wards (Bellevue and Elmhurst hospitals) and court holding facilities in Criminal, Supreme, and Family Court in each borough. DOC handles over 100,000 admissions each year and manages an average daily inmate population of approximately 14,000 individuals. The DOC has launched an aggressive reform agenda to combat violence and promote safety. Our talented team consists of approximately 8400 uniform staff and 1400 non-uniform staff, who work together to achieve the DOC’s goals.
