Global Learning Leader

Description: Our Global Learning Leaders are undergraduate and graduate school students who are interested in gaining classroom experience. Their role is to facilitate connection between the classroom and the study abroad traveler. Global Learning Leaders receive training on our global education platform. This dynamic, challenging opportunity offers: Experiential Learning Assist in a (K-12) school day or afterschool classroom Facilitate and manage all communication between the classroom and their study abroad traveler, including videoconferences Actively engage with students in the classroom Professional Development Report directly to a program manager on a weekly basis for feedback and support Attend professional development meetings throughout the semester Set and achieve programmatic and personal goals

Special Skills & Requirements We select and hire candidates based on their prior experience with youth, their passion for global education and their interest in working in a New York City public school environment. Our Global Learning Leaders are: Passionate about our mission Highly motivated, independent workers Proactive planners who take initiative Flexible and creative problem solvers Excellent communicators Time Commitment Our leaders typically dedicate a total of 8-10 hours per week to their commitment. Our Global Learning Leaders assist in a classroom on a once-a-week basis. Leadership placements require availability one business day per week (Monday – Friday) during one of the time slots below. Leaders devote an additional 3-4 hours per week outside of classroom time to meetings, lesson planning and class preparation. School Day Placements: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM Afterschool Placements: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
