Group Leader

Description: Are You? • A dedicated, self-motivated, and responsible person who loves working with Youth • Interested in making a change in the community • Someone who values a diverse educational experience • Interested in working with others and having fun! Job Description: • Plan, lead, and supervise daily activities for approximately middle school aged and high school aged youth, or co-lead activities. These discussions include topic such as; sexual health, violence, college readiness, etc. • Ensure activities are conducted in a safe, educational and enriching. • Implement Project based learning projects. • Maintain weekly, monthly statistics on program online database; submit monthly narrative/quarterly reports on the program’s progress. • Must participate in Service Learning and Youth Development related trainings. • Be able to work in a school setting and collaborate with other agencies, school staff and parents. Hours range from 2:00 PM – 6:00, at least 4 days a week, some late evenings and weekends included

Special Skills & Requirements Requirements: • HS graduate/equivalency diploma or some college required. • 1-2 years experience working with adolescents required, preferably in a school. • Must be able to engage young people and set structure and limits in a group setting. • Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective. • Team player with a positive attitude. • Ability to multi-task and work in a high needs environment. • Good oral and written communications skills and basic computer software skills. • CPR, First Aid and AED Certification a plus.
