Saleem Iqbal is the President/CEO and Director of HAB BANK, a multi-state New York State chartered bank with headquarters in New York. Since 2000, Saleem has led an extraordinary transformation of HAB BANK with ambitious strategic efforts designed to re-engineer processes and fuel sustained growth with diverse revenue streams.
The bank, besides expanding its branch network, saw its assets and deposits more than quadrupled since Saleem assumed leadership in 2000. Shareholders’ equity experienced more than a five-fold increase during the same period.
In 2011, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York created an Advisory Council and appointed Saleem Iqbal for a three-year term. The Advisory Council (CDIAC) consists of twelve CEO’s selected from over 1,200 banks, thrifts and credit unions in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Saleem was re-appointed for another three-year term in 2014. In 2013, Saleem was among a select group of business leaders invited to the White House for the Export Finance Roundtable, an initiative of the White House Office of Public Engagement.
Saleem serves on the Advisory boards of the New York League of Independent Bankers, Middlesex County Community College, New Jersey and Cerritos Community College, California. Saleem is a charter member of The Indus Entrepreneurs with chapters all over the U.S. He holds a Masters Degree in Administrative Sciences.
Saleem was elected to the QCC Fund Board of Directors in 2015.
