Introduction to Blackboard 9.1 (2hr)
Description: This workshop provides an overview and introduction to the major tools within the new Blackboard 9.1 environment. During the workshop you will build your own course, and gain hands-on experience working within the Blackboard environment.

Clickers: Under the Hood
Description: In this session you will:
 *Review the clicker deployment scheme at QCC
 *Review and perform the latest recommended procedures for configuring clickers
 *Setup a new course, including setting the frequency
 *Use the new secure clicker cabinets, which store clickers in the classroom
 *Try out i>clicker2 features which include numeric and alphanumeric response questions
 *Identify common missteps in clicker usage

Who should attend: Anyone who is interested in the nitty gritty of clicker use or might be in a support role for clicker users

Creating Micro-Lectures with Camtasia (3 hr)
Description: During this workshop you will learn to create your own video Micro-Lectures using PowerPoint, Audacity, and Camtasia, a versatile yet easy to learn program. Your Micro-Lectures can then be posted to YouTube or the College Media Server and made available to your students.
Who should attend: Designed for all those using Blackboard, Epsilen, or their own Web site.

Description: iPads are finding their way into very interesting and unusual corners of our life: teaching, professional, and personal. During this workshop you will be introduced to the world of the iPad, its features, and many of its wonderful Apps.

Blackboard Grade Center (2 hr)

Description: This workshop is for faculty who would like to use the Grade Center in Blackboard to track student grades. In this workshop, you will learn about basic functions such as adding, modifying and removing grade columns, weighing grades by item or by category, and providing feedback on assignments and tests.

Blackboard Advanced-Level III (2 hr) (Practitioners)
Description: This introduction to Blackboard workshop is intended for experienced users. This course is designed to help instructors create online tests and assignments, including SafeAssignment the automatic plagiarism detection system which works in conjunction with Blackboard. Participants will also gain an understanding of the Grade Center and other features in Blackboard that allow instructors to track user progress.

Blackboard Collaborate–Level I: User Mode

Description: Synchronous communication using programs such as Skype, iChat, and Facetime, or more sophisticated online meeting software like Cisco WebEx or Adobe Connect are becoming commonplace. Using this type of technology with your students is now possible since CUNY Central has made Blackboard Collaborate available for all CUNY students and faculty. Homework-help or problem-solving sessions, online meetings especially with FNET and PNET students, special interest group meetings – faculty-to-faculty or faculty-to-student for any academic purpose are all possible now that we have access to Blackboard Collaborate.
Who should attend: All faculty who wish to experience what it is like to use synchronous collaboration technology now made available to us by CUNY. Registration is Limited!

**Important note: The required computer setup for online participation includes a wired network computer with Internet connection and microphone headset. A built-in video-cam is not necessary, but would provide a more complete experience.
