This Sibelius training session will feature a specialized comprehensive curriculum for learning at a realistic pace. Beginner to Intermediate I
Introduction and exploring Sibelius; creating scores with manuscript paper,
instruments, and house-style; adding bars, time signatures, and key signatures;
basic note entry using the mouse, keyboard, and Flexi-time™; basic editing: selecting object, moving, copying, pasting, and re-pitching; marking up your score: adding expressions, techniques, lyrics, and more. General assignments and detailed projects based on individual needs (i.e. composer, student, teacher, performer, arranger). Includes the Insider's Guide to Sibelius

Intermediate II to Advanced
Advanced editing including understanding. Engraving rules (using music publishing houses templates), editing text styles for detailed clarity, re-shaping lines for your score, creating different note-heads for specific music, creating new staff types for complex scores. Using plug-ins and filters to speed your work along; formatting, layout, and part extraction; web-based publishing with Scorch™; arranging; scanning techniques with PhotoScore™; creating tests, exams, and worksheets; integration of Sibelius Educational Suite products

This class will be taught by Ernie Jackson, Adjunct Lecturer, Music Technology, QCC, has been a Sibelius Ambassador and training guru for three years. He is music technology expert, historian, and industry specialist. He is the author of The Music of Justin Holland, the first African-American classical guitarist.
