Presentation: Poetry reading
Abstract: This presentation will be a poetry reading of Li Bai's very famous "Thoughts on a Still Night." After the reading, there will be an analysis of the poem and a brief seminar enlightening the audience on this Poet Immortal's background.

Presentation: A recipe
Abstract:  In this presentation, we will demonstrate how to prepare the Korean dish called “Bi Bim Bob.” We will do the presentation in Chinese. At the end of the demonstration, we will offer the dish to the audience.

Presentation: PowerPoint, Beijing: An Experience in Language and Culture
Abstract: For hundreds of years, Chinese language and culture developed with very little outside influence, particularly very little western influence.  This isolation has enabled a colorful language and culture to grow, one that is unique to China.  My presentation will be image-driven and will highlight various cultural and historical aspects of Beijing, the modern capital of the People’s Republic of China.  It will be based on a two week trip to Beijing.  I will discuss my impressions of the city and its people and culture, and my experiences communicating in Mandarin in various situations.

Abstract: This presentation, given in Mandarin, is about the Taiwanese model/actor’s life and works in the entertainment industry. I will be discussing how he was discovered and got his start, the schools he went to, a few of his favorite things and hobbies. I will also name a few other famous actresses he has worked with.

Abstract: This presentation will be an analysis of how the Swiss watch industry became world renown. In addition, I will give an example of how Swiss cuisine can be both tasty and affordable. I will conclude with beautiful scenery of the Schwizerland’s alpine region

Abstract: The presentation will be done with Tracy Wong. After introducing herself and her hobbies, Student will talk about some important German cities and their main attractions. Her main focus will be on German bier, its various types and how, and where it is produced and served.Main events where bier is consumed will be described.

Abstract: The presentation will be done with a class mate. Student will introduce herself and will present some information on the country in general and main attractions of important German cities.She will concentrate on chocolate production, its history, variety and most important kinds and packaging.She will also describe holidays in which chocolate plays an important role.

Presentation: Nürnberg – Now and Then
Abstract: The medieval and modern city of Nürnberg in south Germany is the topic of this presentation. It will describe the history of the area as well as the ethnic population and culture.Additionally it will show contemporary attractions such as activities in the Nürburgring, Toy Fair, and renowned Christmas Fair.

Topic: L’insalata caprese: una ricetta
Abstract: The student will show the audience, and explain in Italian, how to prepare an insalata caprese.  This recipe contains 7 ingredients: mozzarella, basil, salt, tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, and Italian bread. This dish is not only fragrant and colorful, but it is delicious as well. It is a versatile dish and can be served as an antipasto or a main meal.  This presentation is part of the course assignments for the Spring 2007 Honors Italian II (LI-112) section.

Topic: Papa Giovanni Paolo II
Abstract: The student will introduce the audience to the biography of John Paul II, and his visits around the world.  The presentation will be in Italian with a PowerPoint show portraying different moment in the Pope’s life. This presentation is part of the course assignments for the Spring 2007 Honors Italian II (LI-112) section.  

Topic: Laura Pausini
Abstract: The student will introduce the audience to Laura Pausini, an Italian pop-singer popular in Europe and in Latin America.  The presentation will be in Italian accompanied by a poster with picture and text in Italian. This presentation is part of the course assignments for the Spring 2007 Honors Italian II (LI-112) section.

Abstract: The student will introduce the audience to the city of Milan, Italy. She will describe some of its important monuments and architectonic structures. Topic: La fontana di Trevi
Abstract: Michelle will be presenting the history of the Trevi Fountain. The Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi) is a famous monument in Rome. It is a masterpiece created by many different artists. The presentation will be in Italian accompanied by an array of pictures displayed on a poster board. Topic:  La vita e l’opera di Leonardo da Vinci
Abstract: The student will introduce the audience to Leonardo da Vinci, perhaps the most brilliant mind in human history.  The presentation will be in Italian accompanied by pictures of Leonardo’s most famous works, including paintings, inventions, drawings, designs, etc. This presentation is part of the course assignments for the Spring 2007 Honors Italian II (LI-112) section.  

Topic:  L’architettura di Venezia
Abstract: The student will introduce the audience to the intricate architecture of Venice showing different photos of buildings and explaining the way they were built. This presentation is part of the course assignments for the Spring 2007 Honors Italian II (LI-112) section.

Abstract: The student will introduce the audience to renowned Italian designer Miuccia Prada, who is recognized worldwide for her simple and elegant creations.  The presentation will be in Italian, with a PowerPoint show of some of Prada’s beautiful designs.  This presentation is part of the course assignments for the Spring 2007 Honors Italian II (LI-112) section.
