Description: The Critical Home Repair program works on houses damaged by 2012's Hurricane Sandy, primarily on Staten Island but also in Brooklyn and Queens. Construction crew leaders perform basic demolition tasks, such as the removal of drywall, flooring, cabinets, or other common items, during rehabilitation or critical home repair projects. The Crew Leader promotes team building and provides guidance to volunteers. Construction Crew Leaders work with volunteers to build homes by demonstrating the skills required, providing safety, clean-up directions, and orientating the volunteers on our mission and goals.
