Activity Specialist - Creative Arts

Description: Last Day to Apply: 08/01/2014 Responsibilities - Ensure a safe, structured environment for youth learning - Create and facilitate age appropriate, arts lesson plans and activities that align to NYC educational standards - Manage classroom and maintain positive learning environment - Collaborate and communicate constructively with supervisory staff and team members - Complete necessary reports to monitor student progress and participation including daily attendance, incident reports, etc. - Serve as a positive role model and uphold professional behavior

Special Skills & Requirements Qualifications: -Those with a BA or current college students preferred; high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience working with children under 13 years of age required - Interest and experience in youth development, academic enrichment and creating interactive and educational/artistic activities - A genuine enthusiasm for developing professional skills through training opportunities and field practice - Availability between 9 am-4pm; approximately 4 hours per week July 1st-August 1st - Ability to work as part of a team with the school community - Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a broad range of people including school staff and parents - Flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances

The Creative Arts Activity Specialist is responsible for leading group instruction and activities in summer camp setting that may include Drawing, Painting and Design activities.
