FOIA Intern

Description: The EEOC must actively comply with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which mandates that federal agencies such as EEOC disclose agency records upon receiving a written request for those records, subject to certain exemptions or exclusions. Interns’ duties associated with FOIA compliance may include: • Identifying records to be withheld in whole or in part to ensure that proper FOIA exemptions have been applied • Scanning, copying, redacting and filing of documents • Assisting in drafting and serving final FOIA determinations • Updating and maintaining the FOIA database
