The Queensborough Tigers came back from an eight-run deficit to win the 2013 CUNY Championship. The championship was QCC's second in a row, and the 15th in school history.

The Bronx Broncos took the early lead with two runs in the top of the first. QCC scored once in the 1st, but the Broncos went back up by two in the 2nd. Tigers starter Mark Salazar was tagged for six runs in the 3rd inning, as QCC fell behind 9-2. Edwin Ramirez and Crioni Brazoban both singled in two runs. Another RBI single by Ramirez gave the Broncos a 10-2 lead in 4th.

The Tiger bats got to Bronx starter Omar Gomez, scoring three runs in the 4th, capped off by an inside-the-park home run off the bat of Jeinson Espinosa. Queensborough coach Roger Mischel brought Matthew Brown in to pitch. He promptly gave up two runs, putting the Broncos up 12-5, but he would settle down after that.

Queensborough would score three times on just two hits to cut the lead to 12-8. The key hit was a two out, two run single off the bat off Lebro Burnette. The hit came off of Rowin Rodriguez, who was brought in from centerfield to pitch.

The Tigers would tie the game with four runs in the sixth, all coming with two outs. Richard Tejada had one of his three hits, to cut the lead to 12-9. Then game MVP Alex Pangourelias drove in two runs with a single down the line. Pangourelias then stole second, advanced to third on an error and scored on a balk to tie the game.

In the bottom of the seventh, Queensborough went ahead for the first time. Nicholas Yip's triple down the line scored Burnette and Thomas Grillo and put QCC up 14-12. Another Richard Tejada single put QCC up 15-12.

The Broncos almost came back in the 8th. Bronx scored after Brown hit back-to-back batters. Claudio Deaza faced Brown with QCC up 15-13, two outs and the bases loaded. Deaza lined one up the middle, but Tiger 2nd baseman Calvin Luk snagged it and flipped to Grillo at short to end the threat.

Queensborough scored eight runs in the eight to extend the lead to 23-13, turning what was at one point an eight-run deficit into a double-digit lead. The Broncos scored once more, making the final score 23-14. Alex Pangourelias was named MVP of the slugfest. The right fielder was 4-5, with 3 RBI and 4 runs scored. Matthew Brown also finished the game for QCC, capping off five innings of stellar relief, and getting the win. The championship was the second for head coach Roger Mischel.
