2016 CUNYAC Community College Women's Cross Country Champions

The 2016 CUNYAC/US Army ROTC Community College Cross Country Championships were held on Sunday, October 30th at Van Cortlandt Park. The Queensborough Community College Lady Tigers came out on top with a perfect score of 15 points to win the CUNYAC title. Go Lady Tigers!

Region XV Champions! - 2016 CUNYAC Women's Volleyball

The Lady Tigers defeated Suffolk County CC 3-0 in the Region XV Finals after defeating Orange CC 3-0 in the Semi-finals to win the Region XV title. The Lady Tigers finished the regular season 26-1 overall & a perfect 23-0 in Region XV.

    Women's Volleyball Region XV Champions Queensborough Community College

    WE'RE GOING TO NATIONALS! The Lady Tigers defeated Suffolk County CC 3-0 in the Region XV Finals after defeating Orange CC 3-0 in the Semi-finals to win the Region XV title. The Lady Tigers travel to Rochester, MN starting 11/11 to compete in the NJCAA Championships. Go Lady Tigers!

    2016 CUNYAC Community College Women's Volleyball Champions

    CHAMPIONS AGAIN!!! The QCC Lady Tigers became CUNYAC Community College Women's Volleyball Champions for a second year in a row after defeating #4 Kingsborough CC 3-0 and #2 BMCC 3-0. Zuri Williams recorded 20 kills on the day on her way to winning CUNYAC Tournament MVP and the Lady Tigers finished a perfect 10-0 in CUNYAC this season. Congratulations to Coach Dermas and the Lady Tigers!

David Moriera, Athlete of the Month for October 2016

Men's Cross Country - Sophomore

David Moriera is the Queensborough Student Athlete of the Month for October. The stand out distance runner has been QCC's top cross country runner the past 2 years. At the CUNYAC Championships for cross country, David placed 2nd in the Junior College Championships in a time of 33:23 over the hilly 5 mile course. He placed 24 overall out of 94 running from all 10 Cuny Colleges. David also ran 32:01the week before at the St Joseph College Invitation held at Sunken Meadow state Park on Long Island. The month started off on Oct 1 running at the LIU Post invitation running 5 miles in 32:13. David will lead the tigers to the Nationals on November 12 at Finger Lakes CC.

Zuri Williams, Athlete of the Month for October 2016

Women's Volleyball - #14 - Middle Hitter - Sophomore

Zuri Williams is the Queensborough Student Athlete of the Month for October. The dominate middle led the Lady Tigers to two championships in the month. She helped the team defeat BMCC to defend the CUNYAC championship and then tied a career high with 20 kills to carry the team to the school's first ever Regional Championship against Suffolk CC. In the month, she recorded 120 kills and 34 blocks. Even missing a few games due to injury, did not stop her from leading the team in both statistical categories. For her efforts, she was awarded Region XV Player of the Year, Region XV Tournament MVP, and the CUNYAC Championship MVP. She will look to continue her success as the team travels to Minnesota for the NJCAA National Championship on Novermber 11th & 12th.
