Queensborough finished off a sweep of BMCC by holding off a Panther comeback. QCC nearly blew a double-digit lead in the second half, but clinched the game at the free-throw line, winning 71-67.

Stephon Medard, Taequann Washington and Alan Smith all made it to double-digit scoring in the first half and took a 37-25 lead into halftime. Tyler Jenkins was swatting shots away once which led to a basket by Washington, another to a basket by Medard. A three by Smith made it 49-31 and gave QCC its biggest lead of the game. BMCC coach Michael Kerr put on a full-court press which worked wonders and cut the lead to eight with three minutes remaining. BMCC cut the lead to three with 1:25 to go, but Medard made it 68-63. Again the Panthers made it a three-point game.

The Tigers had the ball up 68-65 with 40.3 seconds to go. Medard was fouled with 11.5 remaining and with only six seconds left on the shot clock. Medard missed the first but was able to hit the second and make it a two possession game. BMCC raced down for a quick bucket and again fouled Medard with the score 69-67 and two seconds remaining. Medard hit both to put the game out of reach and send the Panthers back to Manhattan with a loss.

Medard led the Tigers with 24 points, while Washington added 16. Smith finished with 14 points, including three trifectas, in addition to his four steals. Jenkins ended up hauling in 11 rebounds.
