CUNYAC Player of the Week for Week 13

CUNYAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week awarded to Devon Matthews, Queensborough

For the first time this season, Matthews takes player honors. Matthews led the Tigers to a 1-1 mark last week. The sophomore guard averaged 24.5 points, six boards, and five assists in the two games. Against conference rival BMCC, the Jamaica native produced his best game of the week, dropping 24 points, grab-bing eight rebounds, and dishing out seven assists in a losing effort. Matthews followed that performance with 24 points, four rebounds, and three assists in a win against Ulster.

Community College Men’s Basketball Weekly Report for Week 10

CUNYAC Player of the Week for Week 10

CUNYAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week awarded to Mark Blair, Queensborough

Blair led the Tigers to a 2-1 mark last week (11-6), including a win against con-ference rival Kingsborough (3-3 CUNYAC). For the week, the sophomore guard averaged a double-double with 27 points and 13 boards. Against the Wave, the product from Epic South High School scored 27 points grabbing an incredible 20 rebounds (9 off), both were good for game-highs, while shooting 45 percent (10-22). The Rosedale native followed that performance with 37 points, 14 re-bounds, and 4 assists in a win the very next game against Orange.

CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Awards - Week Eleven

Freshman Mark Blair named CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Mark Blair, Queensborough (Fr, G, Rosedale, N.Y.)

Blair had his fourth-straight double-double of the season last week, the rookie’s fifth of his career. He tallied 17 points on .700 (7-of-10) shooting from the field with 10 rebounds against Nassau. Then, against Rockland, Blair shot .667 (6-of-9) from the field and .750 (3-of-4) from beyond the arc for 20 points and 11 rebounds.

CUNYAC Men’s Basketball Awards - Week Nine

Mark Blair, CUNYAC Rookie of the week for Week Nine

Mark Blair, Queensborough (Fr, G, Rosedale, N.Y.)

Blair helped the Tigers to their second win in a row last Tuesday -- a 99-94 overtime victory at Monroe. He went off for a team-high 29 points on 12-of-20 shooting and pulled down three rebounds in the winning effort.

CUNYAC Weekly Honors - Week 9

Keison McIntosh, CUNYAC Rookie of the Week

Keison McIntosh, #5, Queensborough (Fr, G, Brooklyn, N.Y.),

McIntosh caught fire from beyond the arc on Saturday, netting 10 treys in a blistering 32-point effort in a 97-78 win over Dutchess C.C. He also had three assists and four steals, while shooting 11-of-23 from the field in the victory.

Brandon Segar, CUNYAC Athlete of the Week for Week 7

Brandon Segar, Guard/Forward & Sophomore was named CUNYAC Athlete of the Week for Week 7

Segar helped the Tigers to a 2-0 week, averaging 21.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. He totaled 22 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists against Rockland C.C. and had 21 points and 11 rebounds versus Bronx.

Keison McIntosh, CUNYAC Rookie of the Week for Week 7

Keison McIntosh, Queensborough, Guard & Freshman was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Week for Week 7. This is Keison's second time being named RotW by CUNYAC

McIntosh averaged a team-high 21.5 points per game, en route to lifting the Tigers to a pair of victories. He finished with 23 points in a 90-74 win versus Rockland C.C. and poured in 20 points in an 82-66 victory over Bronx.

CUNYAC Weekly Honors - Week 3

Keison McIntosh, CUNYAC Rookie of the Week

Keison McIntosh, #5, Queensborough (Fr, G, Brooklyn, N.Y.),

In a 2-0 week for the Tigers, McIntosh averaged 25.5 points per contest and buried 13 three-pointers. He went off for 31 points in an 84-72 win at Monroe and followed that up with a 20-point effort in a 76-71 victory over Sullivan.

Men's Basketball defeats another Top 10 team

Queensborough men’s basketball defeated Sullivan CC, 76-71 on Saturday, 11/18. Sullivan is currently ranked 6th in the nation in the NJCAA Division III Men’s Basketball rankings. The Tigers were led by freshman Keison McIntosh with 20 points, including 6 for 11 from 3-point range. Sophomore Joshua Williams contributed 12 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists, while sophomore Brandon Segar also contributed big with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks.


2017-18 Season off to a strong start!

Queensborough Men's Basketball defeated Nassau CC, 80-70 last night in their season opener. Nassau is currently ranked 4th in the nation in the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball rankings. The Tigers were led by freshman Keison McIntosh with 29 points on 10 of 14 shooting, including 8 for12 from 3-point range. Sophomore Joshua Williams contributed 23 points and 10 assists, while sophomore Brandon Segar just missed a triple-double with 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists.

Brandon Segar from Queensborough CC has been named the CUNYAC Community College Male Player of the Week. On 12/13 vs. Rockland CC, Brandon Segar erupted for 26 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. He shot 10-16 from the field while going 5-7 from beyond the arc. Two nights later, versus Bronx CC, the Queens native scored 16 while shooting 5-8 from the field.
