The Green Technology Academy at Queensborough Community College prepares students for immediate entry into the rapidly expanding green economy through comprehensive, career-focused training in sustainable technology fields. This workforce development program combines hands-on laboratory experiences with real-world project applications in critical areas including energy efficiency systems, solar and wind power technologies, climate change mitigation, and environmental sustainability practices. Students gain industry-relevant certifications and practical skills essential for high-demand careers in renewable energy installation and maintenance, energy auditing, sustainable building design, and environmental consulting. The Academy's curriculum develops both the technical competencies required by employers and the environmental literacy necessary for advancing sustainable technology solutions. Aligning with New York State's clean energy goals and workforce needs, the program provides graduates with direct pathways into the green technology sector or transfer opportunities to four-year institutions, positioning them for rewarding careers in one of the fastest-growing areas of the modern economy.
