TRAINING DESCRIPTION
Queensborough Community College, in partnership with the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) and the Mayor's Office for Media and Entertainment (MOME), will offer the Made in NY Media Academy Music Production Bootcamp Training Program. The Music Production Bootcamp is an innovative training opportunity that combines music production techniques with hands-on experience in recording studio environments. It equips participants with the skills needed for careers in the music and recording industries. Graduates can pursue employment in commercial recording studios, live recording venues, radio and broadcast networks, and with manufacturers serving the music production field.
The main objective of the Music Production Bootcamp Training Program is to provide participants entry into music production employment opportunities in NYC by providing a strong foundation in the Audio Recording Arts and Sciences. Participants gain practical skills in music production, mixing, sound design, and more - using up-to-date, industry-
standard software. Additionally, participants will be trained on synthesizers for music production, learning to operate an electronic music synthesizer, integrate custom sounds into music composition, and create melodies and rhythms. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from Queensborough Community College, as well as Pro Tools 101 certification.

PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY
Participants must:
· Be a NYC resident
· Be 18+ years old
· Be authorized to work in the U.S.
· Be Selective Service compliant (if applicable)
· Have high school diploma or HSE
· Have annual income less than $60,000 (if currently employed)
· Provide documentation for all eligibility criteria
· Show commitment to working in the music production field
· Show commitment to traveling to Queensborough Community College for in-person training
· Commitment to training schedule, sessions on 2 weekday evenings, and a session on Saturday (No more than 3 unexcused absences)
CASE MANAGEMENT & SUPPORT
Participants receive:

Instructor
Ernie Jackson
Prof. Ernie Jackson has been a full-time faculty member of the Music Department since 2006. He is a tenured professor that teaches guitar, music production and audio engineering, leads the Electronic Music Ensemble.
Prof. Jackson is a Certified Pro Tools and Sibelius trainer. A guitarist since the age of 16, he has been featured in Guitar Player, Guitar World, Guitar for the Practicing Musician, Downbeat, and many other magazine publications. He has studied classical guitar under Ed Brown at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY where he received his BA in Music. He was then awarded a graduate scholarship to study classical guitar performance at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford CT with Richard Provost and Allan Spreistersbach. He furthered his studies in theory at the Manhattan School of Music under the guidance of David Starobin. His other teachers have been Sharon Isbin (Juilliard), and Benjamin Verdery (Yale). Jackson is the recipient of an Alumni Fellow Award from Wagner College for his distinguished career in music and education. He graduated from Wagner College in 1987.

Prerequisites and Certification Requirements
There are no prerequisites to take this course. However, you will need a high school diploma or GED equivalent to start a career as a paralegal. It is also recommended that you have basic computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and fundamental keyboarding skills. A strong grasp of English grammar conventions, such as spelling, punctuation, and composition, is also recommended.
To meet the eligibility requirements to sit for the NALA Certified Paralegal exam, you must meet one of the following requirements: You must have 60 semester hours, of which at least 15 hours* (225 clock hours) are from paralegal studies or hold an associate's degree in paralegal studies, or a bachelor's degree in any field, or have seven years of experience as a legal assistant under the supervision of a member of the Bar. Please review the exam requirements before enrolling in this course.
Certification Requirements:
If you plan to pursue the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) Certified Paralegal (CP) credential, you must meet one of the NALA Certification Eligibility Requirements. We recommend determining eligibility before enrolling in this course. If you do not meet the eligibility requirements, a Legal Secretary course will prepare you for an entry-level legal career that can build up to the paralegal role. Introduction to Gaming Operations
Queensborough Community College, in partnership with Resorts World New York City, will offer Introduction to Gaming Operations, a four-week online course designed to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of gaming and hospitality operations within an integrated resort environment. This course is 100% free and open to the public. The program introduces core operational departments, outlines the structure and functions of each area, and increases awareness of career pathways within the gaming and hospitality industry. The program was established to support workforce development efforts by educating participants on industry standards, operational practices, and employment opportunities, while preparing them for entry-level positions and long-term career advancement.
Course Overview (4 Weeks): All classes will be over zoom
- Week 1: Slot Operations, Table Games, Cage Operations
- Week 2: Marketing Operations (Casino marketing, advertising, database management, players club operations, player development, promotions)
