This is a virtual event using Zoom

This Club Event is for Students

Student Research Fair

MAPS will be having their third Event: This Event is a bit different from the other events that were conducted because the speakers of the event will be students attending QCC and other schools.

Speakers will first introduce themselves stating who they are, their career of interest, and the major they are studying. Then they will discuss what research is, the type of research they have done in any department, why they did research, how they found research and how they got their research opportunities, how their research project(s) will benefit them and bring them closer to their goals/career. They will talk about how research benefited them and helped them progress as a person, and much more. We highly recommend students interested in research to join this event because nowadays in the field of pre-health regardless of whether you are pursuing becoming a physician, nurse, physician assistant, physical therapist, chiropractor, dentist etc. research is becoming more and more popular every year. All these pre-health programs are starting to slowly highly recommend and even require students to do at least one research project because it helps the field of science grow.

The more research that is done, hopefully more treatments and inventions can be made to grow the pre-health field overall. This event will also explain how students got to find their student mentor who are guiding them on their journey.

Having a mentor or someone that can help is very important because the mentee does not have to face all these challenges on his/her own. Speakers will discuss the importance and benefits of having a mentor and how they got in contact with their mentor.

If you are interested in research, want to do research, or if you are not interested in research, we still highly recommend you join because there will be a lot of information that can be of benefit and you will learn about the many opportunities at QCC. If you have any questions, contact us at
