Chapter  1. OVERVIEW

Section  10. Faith and Reason   .

Faith vs. Reason - Are there other ways to find a basis for belief?

What is the relationship of Faith to Reason?

This is a view of religious belief that faith must be held without the use of reason or even against reason. Faith does not need reason. Faith creates its own justification. There are two possible variations of fideism.

    1. faith as against reason
    2. faith as above reason

There is another view that faith must be consistent with reason or even the result of reasoning.  These alternative views will be examined.
