Jennifer Maloy grew up in New Mexico and moved to New York in 2008 to work as the Writing Center Coordinator at Hostos Community College, CUNY. She has taught composition, developmental writing, introduction to literature, women’s literature, and creative non-fiction courses. She is committed to supporting students in developmental writing and ESL courses, serving as one of the founders and first co-coordinators of the Accelerated Learning Program at QCC. Her research focuses on working with developmental and multilingual writers, integrating service-learning and other high impact practices into ESL and developmental writing classes, and designing writing curricula that promotes active investigation of cultural and community issues. She has published articles in the BW eJournal, Journal of Basic Writing, Teaching English in the Two-Year College, and NYS TESOL Journal.
