In joining the Queensborough Community College/CUNY community, your benefits will be provided through the CUNY system.  CUNY offers a highly competitive package of benefits to its eligible active full-time (teaching and non-teaching) and retired Instructional Staff members and their eligible dependents. Health benefit plans:  You can choose from a wide variety of health benefit plans including HMO, EPO, POS, and PPO. Some health plans are offered at no cost. We also offer major medical, hospital, optical, dental, prescription, and extended medical benefit.

Retirement plans:  We offer defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans.  These plans provide employer contributions.   Participating retirement plan providers are TIAA-CREF, the Teachers’ Retirement System of New York, and the New York City Employees’ Retirement System (NYCERS).

Tax Deferred Annuity and Deferred Compensation plans:  To help supplement regular retirement plans, we also offer an extensive selection of pre-tax, supplemental retirement plans, including 401K, 403B, and 457B plans.

Tuition waiver:  Tuition may be waived for Queensborough employees for undergraduate and graduate courses at any college of The City University of New York on a space available basis.

Flexible spending accounts:  A program to help you pay for out-of-pocket health care and dependent cares expenses, while reducing your taxable income.

College savings program:  A qualified tuition program to help you save for eligible higher education expenses while taking advantage of some federal, New York state and local tax benefits.
