Dr. Anne-Marie Bourbon
Anne-Marie Bourbon, Professor of French and Chair of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Queensborough, was born and brought up in France. She received a B.A. and M.A. from Queens College and her Ph.D. in French literature from the City University of New York. A Renaissance specialist, she has published several articles in her field in literary journals and book revies for the Renaissance Society of America. She translated into English the prose work of Louise Labé, an important sixteenth-century French poet and feminist. This translation of Debate of Folly and Love
was published by Peter Lang as a dual-language book with the original French text. Among the other books that she has translated from French into English is one by Paul Morand of the French Academy. She is also the co-author of Trésors Littéraires
, a reader for students of French which had its origins in an NEH Grant given to her and other CUNY colleagues.
