Wonsun Bae was born in Seoul, Korea and began her early piano training with three of Korea's finest teachers, Mrs. Jungjoo Oh, Mr. Nakho Baik and Minsook Lee. her talent brought her to the finals of "The Dong-A Music Competition" in 1988, the most prestigious music competition in Korea. Beginning in 1990, Ms. Bae left Korea for a truly life transforming experience. She moved to Austria, the cradle of classical piano where some of the world's most renowned piano instructors teach. Ms. Bae studied at the "Hochschule fuer Musik und darstellende Kunst" in Graz, Austria, under Mr. Alexandr Satz.

During her study in Graz, she won "The Karl Boehm Music Competition" and played under Sir Martin Turnovsky of the Prague Symphony Orchestra at the Stefaniensaa (Stefanien Hall) and also was invited to perform at the Congress Hall of Austria. Further, Ms. Bae received "The Boesendorefer Piano Prize" in Vienna for the best piano student of the year 1993 in Austria and honored as a scholar of the Austrian Cultural Government.

Ms. Bae has given many concerts throughout Europe including in Austria, Germany, Portugal, Yugoslavia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Japan and Korea. One of her finest honors in her career was her selection to perform at "The Schlosswig Holstein Musik Festival" in Luebeck in Germany as a soloist among sixty pianists from around the world. Ms. Bae received warm praise from Austrian music critics.

With her stunning success in Europe now complete, in July of 2003, Ms. Bae returned to Korea and gave a successful concert in Seoul. She won the high acclaim of Korean critics with Piano Music Magazine. After earning her Concert-diploma at Musikhochschule in Graz, Ms. Bae had yet another life transforming experience, this time moving to the United States. She received her Master's degree in Piano Performance from Duquense University under Mrs. Natasha Snitkovsky.

Ms. Bae made her American Debut Recital in 1997 and the same year she won "The Pittsburgh Concert Society Competition." In 2000, she won "The West Virginia Young Artist Competition" and served as a piano faculty member at the Soesterberg International Music Festival in Soesterberg, Netherlands and the Interharmony International Music Festival in Geneva, Switzerland.

Since 2006, Ms. Bae is an adjunct professor in music at Queensborough Community College/CUNY in New York and she has been a piano faculty at City Music Center of Duquesne University in Pittsburg for seven years.
