ASAP: Welcome Back Cohort 2 (EKOarts) - TRAILER

On January 26th 2010, the ASAP staff welcomed back Cohort 2 students to a day with EKOarts; a performance-based group of teaching artists. Students were greeted by EKOarts Director Ellen Kirshbaum, and were introduced to her team. The day began with students performing a traditional gospel song ‘I Don’t Feel No Ways Tired’ both singing and signing the words to the song. Students were then broken into two groups; one group acting out skits involving different themes, while the other group sang the classic song ‘Lean on Me’. Both groups broke for a delicious lunch and were able to catch up with one another as well as their Student Managers. After lunch, each group performed the final piece of their presentation. This is the second time ASAP students have worked with EKOarts, and we are delighted to have them share their talent and enthusiasm with our students. This was an inspiring and motivational way to kick off the semester!
