Over the past 15 years Ari Hest and Chrissi Poland have immersed themselves in the music business. Aside from internationally performing with some of the biggest acts in the industry (Sting, Scissor Sisters, Bette Midler, Judy Collins), they are veteran songwriters, having had placements in television, film, and on several compilation records in addition to releasing many albums of their own. The pair met in 2013 and quickly discovered their ability to write great songs together.
The workshop that Ari and Chrissi have created will cover the vital elements of songwriting, including what makes a great melody, how to create chord structures that work, and the secrets to amazing lyric writing. There will be a Q and A segment, as well as chances for students to show examples of their work and receive feedback. Ari and Chrissi will also perform a short set of their best work and explain how they crafted the material. The goal is to have students leave feeling inspired and armed with a set of helpful tools to create the songs they are ready to make.
