I Will Not Be Silent: A Comfort Woman Survivor Speaks

Date: July 30th, 2015
Duration: 50m:43s

Yong Soo Lee
Kidnapped from her family farm when she was a teenager, Yong Soo Lee was held at a Japanese military outpost in Taiwan for kamikaze pilots. She was held at the base where she was a victim of sexual slavery until the war ended. She remained silent for 47 years until 1991 when other Comfort Women began to come forward. Since opening up about her experience she has dedicated her life to exposing these war crimes to the world.

We are honored to have this brave woman here at the Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center as we work to memorialize, teach, and share the story of the Comfort Women with our community.

Join us as we work to raise funds for a memorial, to develop educational resources, and to create a traveling exhibition.
