In a tightly contested game which never saw either team take a double-digit lead, the Lady Tigers beat the Lady Wave 55-52. Kingsborough, led by Kristin D’Chiutiis, took an early 15-8 lead, but Sabrina Rodriguez rallied QCC to take a 28-25 halftime lead on the strength of her twelve early points. Queensborough’s biggest lead was seven, when Elyse Langley’s unlikely three-pointer made it 40-33.

Samantha Mansour and Carla Baena helped bring KCC back and with 1:04 remaining, the Lady Tigers lead was 54-51. KCC’s Latoya Kinloch missed the front end of a 1-and-1, followed by QCC’s Kelena Marshall doing the same at the other end. With 38.8 seconds left, Allison Ahmed split her free throws to make it 54-52. At the other end, Latasha Harris was fouled. Harris hit the first to make it 55-52, but with a chance to make it a two possession game, she missed the second. However, D’Chiutiis fell out of bounds and the ball went back to QCC.

After a dangerous pass, Rodriguez was fouled with 10.5 seconds left. Rodriguez missed the first and a lane violation wiped out a chance for a second free throw. D’Chiutiis got away with a momentary lapse of judgement, when she rolled her inbounds pass to Langley, but Kingsborough forced a jump ball and had one more chance to tie. When Mansour’s three was missed, Queensborough had narrowly escaped with a win against their rivals from Brooklyn.
