    Carmen Clavijo, Women's Volley, named CUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year

    The 31st Annual Michael Steuerman Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner for the CUNY Athletic Conference was held at Queens College on May 18th, 2017. The night was a tribute to CUNYAC's superb student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and supporters. The evening's honorees represent the very best CUNY has to offer in quality academics and athletics.

    President Call joined Athletic Director Jon Hochberg along with the QCC Student Government President, several coaches, and student-athletes, accepting the CUNYAC Commissioner's Cup for the 4th straight year.

    Tigers win CUNYAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track Titles

    The 2017 CUNYAC/Army ROTC Outdoor Track and Field Championships took place on Sunday, May 14th with Queensborough Community College winning both the Men's and Women's Championship.

    Baseball All-Region Teams

    Brandon Bautista and David Lim were named to the Region XV 1st Team All-Region Team. Ringo Rodriguez, Andres Perez, and Brian Santana were named to the 2nd Team All-Region. Nicholas Zuvic and Jesse Iacovetta won the Gold Glove award and Gabriel Sibrian was named to the Sportsmanship Team. Way to go Tigers!

    2017 Women's Softball players receive Region XV accolades

    Queensborough Lady Tigers Kerri McDonald, Gabriela Conelli, and Taiwo Owoeye were recognized by Region XV. Kerri McDonald was named to the Region XV Second Team All-Region (Infield), Region XV Tournament, All-Tournament Team. Gabriela Conelli was named to the Region XV Second Team All-Region (Catcher). Taiwo Owoeye was named to the Region XV Tournament, All-Tournament Team.

    Queensborough is currently ranked in the top 15 for NJCAA D3

    The national NJCAA Division III Top 25 rankings are out and Queensborough is currently ranked #14 for Men's and #12 for Women's Outdoor Track and Field. Way to go Tigers!

Male Athlete of the Month

Devon Duncan, Athlete of the Month for April 2017

Men's Outdoor Track - Sophomore

Devon Duncan is the Queensborough Student Athlete of the Month for May. The nationally ranked runner finished his season in spectacular fashion. He finished first in the 110 and 400 meter hurdles to help the Tigers win the CUNYAC Outdoor Championship. While at the NJCAA National Championships, Devon finished 4th in 400 and 5th in the 110 meter hurdles. He was also part of three separate relay teams, which all finished in the top 8 spots in the country. For his efforts, Devon became a 5 time NJCAA All American.

Sharina Tappin, Athlete of the Month for April 2017

Women's Outdoor Track - Sophomore

Sharina Tappin is the Queensborough Student Athlete of the Month for May. This is the second month in a row that Sharina would be honored with this award. Sharina had another busy month as she helped the Tigers win the Outdoor CUNYAC Championship, as well as record impressive finishes at the NJCAA Nationals. At the CUNYAC Championship, she compeated against all 4 year CUNYAC student athletes in five events. While finishing 4th in the triple jump and 3rd in the relays. Her success would continue at the NJCAA National Championships, where she placed 4th for the triple jump and was part of two relay teams that finished in the top 8 spots in the country. For her efforts, she was awarded a 3 time NJCAA All American.
