Compliance - Queensborough Athletics
Athletic Department Code of Conduct
Queensborough Community College, the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC), and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) are working together to promote good sportsmanship. Participating on a varsity team is a privilege that comes with great responsibility. Your cooperation by supporting all participants, officials, and staff in a positive manner is expected at all times.
Region officials have been asked to enforce all sportsmanship rules during athletic competition. All student-athletes, coaches, staff, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves properly at all times. Fighting, negative or inflammatory comments, profanity, or any other words or actions deemed to be unsportsmanlike towards opponents, coaches, officials, fans, or staff members will not be tolerated, and will be grounds for disciplinary action. This includes gestures, baiting, taunting and trash talking. Any individuals involved in conduct that is deemed inappropriate or unsportsmanlike, will be subject to ejection, suspension, dismissal, and further disciplinary action by the College. No warning is necessary prior to discipline.
All game/match ejections are reported directly to CUNYAC, NJCAA Region XV, the NJCAA National Office, and the Queensborough Community College Office of the President. All incidents will be handled on a case by case basis, and those individuals involved are subject to the disciplinary action mentioned previously.
Consumption or possession of alcohol, illegal drugs, or tobacco is strictly prohibited and is grounds for immediate dismissal from the team.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Please remember that you are representing Queensborough Community College at all times. It is expected that you will respect all teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, spectators, and staff members. Best of luck for a successful season!
