Biography:

Eileen White is an award-winning filmmaker whose films and videos have been exhibited at numerous festivals. She has worked on other films in such capacities as producer, props, location sound and assistant sound editor as well as camera and editorial work. Professor White teaches film theory, production and history at Queensborough and is currently working on a documentary, "The ‘C’ in Allah," about a childhood friend who converted to Islam and an experimental documentary, "(Sweet) Rolling Home," about memory, pastry and stuff. She also lectures at the Neversink Area Valley Museum on D.W. Griffith and early film history. She has presented on using microblogging in the classroom all over the country and her latest research on the fan culture of British band, The Libertines entitled "The Libertines and the Legacy of The Likely Lads: Arcadian Dreams in Tabloid Hell" has been presented at the National, Mid-Atlantic ans Southwest Texas American/Popular Culture Association conferences as well as the upcoming London Film and Media Conference. Recently, Eileen has been working on the ethics and implications of visual effects in her paper "Now You See It: Computer Generated Reality in 'Boardwalk Empire'," which she recently presented at the Southwest Texas Popular Culture Association in Albuquerque, NM.
