BRANDING Case submitted by David
Here is an interesting article about a surgeon branding his alma mater in the uterus of one of his patients. (Taken from CNN.com)

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (AP) -- A surgeon being sued for branding a patient's uterus with the initials of his alma mater -- the University of Kentucky -- defended his actions Tuesday as a routine part of a hysterectomy.

The interesting part of this article was the fact that he found his act of branding "honorable". Obviously he never took a course on medical ethics. The part that really hit me was that he never got the patient's permission to do such an act. As a result, he is in legal trouble, something that I think will always happen if a doctor pushes his authority past the limits. Thanks for reading my opinion!
