NURSING ADVISEMENT FOR CLASSES IN
Spring 2009

Information Session

All students ready to file an application for the Spring 2009 Clinical  Nursing Program are encouraged to  read the college catalog (pages 112-113, 183-184) or go to the Nursing Department website before calling the department directly for information.

Clinical Nursing Application Information Sessions for Students Who are Ready to Apply for Clinical Nursing , Spring 2009 will be Held in Room  M-344

September 24th and October 2nd

12:00 – 1:00  –OR–  1:00 – 2:00

ONLY STUDENTS WHO HAVE COMPLETED ALL PRE-REQUISITES ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY

Clinical Application for Spring 2009 will be accepted during the following times in Room M-302

Monday 10/6/08 9:00 – 1:00
Tuesday 10/7/08 2:00 – 5:00
Thursday 10/8/08 8:30 – 12:30
Tuesday 10/14/08 9:00 – 1:00
Thursday 10/16/08 2:00 – 5:00
Monday 10/20/08 2:00 – 5:00
Tuesday 10/21/08 9:00 – 1:00
Thursday 10/23/08 11:00 – 3:00

Applications will NOT be accepted without the following:

  • Completion of all Basic Skills including Math & Speech if required-(ALL students must be tested in the Speech Department, H-125.)
  • QCC Degree Evaluation Form - form  obtained  from the QCC website (instructions to print form are available on Nursing Department’s website)
  • Student Copies of ALL transcripts from other colleges the student has attended

PLEASE NOTE:

Admission to the clinical courses is competitive. A GPA of 2.75 in the four pre-clinical courses is the MINIMUM GPA accepted. This GPA does not guarantee you a seat; it means that you are eligible to be considered. Seats are assigned to students who demonstrate the strongest academic preparation and they are only good for the semester for which you apply.

*All CUNY Nursing Departments require applicants for Admission into nursing clinicals to provide documentation in one of the following categories:
     1) U.S. Citizenship - a passport or birth certificate will suffice;
     2) Permanent Residency;
     3) International Student with F1 Status;
     4) Granted Asylum, Refugee Status, Temporary Protected Status, Withholding of Removal, Deferred Enforced Departure, or Deferred Action Status by the U.S. government.

All undocumented students who are interested in nursing are strongly urged to contact the CUNY Citizenship and Immigration Project which will provide free counseling and assistance to all CUNY students who need help with their immigration status. Students may also visit the QCC Office of International Students & Center for Immigration, Room L-431 in the Library, telephone 718-631-6611.

If you have previously made an application and have not been accepted or were unable to accept your seat, you must reapply for the next semester.

Your application cannot be accepted because one or more of requirements listed below are missing or incomplete.
