Enter the State of New York's Annual Garfinkel Essay Contest!

The Historical Society of the Courts of the State of New York's 7th Annual Garfinkel Essay Contest will award three prizes of over $3,000 combined. The contest is open to all CUNY and SUNY Community College students registered for the Fall Semester of 2013 or the Spring Semester of 2014. Entries will be accepted starting December 13, 2013 through April 1, 2014. The contest rules are available at www.nycourts.gov/history.

ABOUT THE CONTEST:
The Garfinkel Essay Contest of the Historical Society of the Courts of the State of New York is open to students, from all academic disciplines, registered in CUNY and SUNY community colleges for the Fall semester of 2013 and the Spring semester of 2014 - www.nycourts.gov/history

PRIZES:
A panel of members of the New York Bench and Bar will select the winning essays, and prizes will be awarded as follows: NYS Community College Grand Prize, awarded to a student from either educational system: $1,500; CUNY Community College Prize: $1,000; SUNY Community College Prize: $1,000.
