Our Campaign
OUR FUTURE
Since its inception, the Holocaust Resource Center and Archives has relied heavily on State and City funding. In these uncertain economic times, and in order to ensure the future of this center and its critical work, these funding sources are not enough.
Therefore, Queensborough Community College has recently launched a major fundraising campaign, “Building on Our Tradition,” that incorporates a commitment to the Holocaust Resource Center and Archives. It is time for us to turn to other sources of funding to enable us to expand our services, and ensure that the Center will remain a leader in Holocaust education. Read More...
This campaign embodies a three-fold promise:
- To provide the KHRCA a permanent and proper home without the use of public dollars in order to ensure its use for this purpose so long as the College exists
- To enhance and preserve our comprehensive collection of Holocaust materials.
- To establish an endowment that will ensure adequate staffing, continuous programming, and dissemination of Holocaust related materials to educators, scholars, students, and the public at large.
Funds from our Preserving History Campaign will support:
- Creation of a new 7,000 sq. ft. facility for the Holocaust Center
- Expansion of Educational Services of the Holocaust Center
Plans call for the new Holocaust Center to be housed in a prominent facility on campus, with an additional 4900 square feet to house the expanding collections and provide more exhibition space. As a result, we can increase our exhibit programming, accommodate larger groups for tours, and expand our ever-growing library collection.
