The yellow Star of David was a cloth patch that the Jews were forced to wear by the Nazis on their outer garments that would mark them in public. Less known is the fact that the yellow patch was originated in the 9th century in Baghdad, adopted by the Catholic Church in 1215. The yellow Star eventually became a symbol of hate in Europe and was adopted by the Nazis.
