Facing History and Ourselves

Facing History and Ourselves is an international non-profit education organization whose mission is to engage students of diverse backgrounds in an examination of racism, prejudice, and antisemitism in order to promote the development of a more humane and informed citizenry. By studying the historical development and lessons of the Holocaust and other examples of genocide, students make the essential connection between history and the moral choices they confront in their own lives.

Facing History is a leader in history and civic education providing published and online resources, professional development and support for educators, and community events for people of all ages to understand how human behavior and individual choice play a critical role in shaping society.

The Art of Samuel Bak Workshop will offer content and teaching strategies that promote student engagement, critical thinking, and deeper understanding of the lessons of history through the art of Samuel Bak.
