Academic Merit Scholarships for Freshman

An invitation to graduating high school students . . .

You have worked hard during your high school years, and your academic record reflects your talent and commitment. We want to recognize your dedication to your future by inviting you to apply for one of our Academic Merit Scholarships for Freshmen.

The dollar amount of these scholarships vary, depending on your academic record, and may be awarded each semester over two years (or four semesters). As part of The City University of New York, Queensborough already boasts one of the lowest tuition costs in the area. Not only would this scholarship award, coupled with tuition savings, offer you more opportunities for your future after Queensborough, but it is also our way to acknowledge and encourage you to continue your education beyond high school.

With an Academic Merit Scholarship, students may enroll in the College’s Honors Scholars program – a unique and rewarding combination of challenging projects, linked classes, and faculty-student partnerships. Merit scholars may enroll in one honors class in their first semester at Queensborough, and continue in this dynamic program through graduation.

  2. Enrollment as a full-time student (at least 12 credits per semester) in a degree program.

  4. Awards are given to freshmen entering in the fall semester.
