Spring 2015 Continuing Student Advisement

Class registration for the Spring 2015 semester has begun. If you intend to join us this semester you must act quickly!

We have some great news: Advisement is required only for students with below a 2.0 GPA and/or students enrolled in a special program (ASAP, COPE, etc.). All other students can now register for classes without advisement via CUNYfirst.

We encourage you to use Degree Works to review your progress towards degree completion. You may also search for course availability, verify your personal information, view your grades and much more.‎‎‎ Here’s how:

  1. Log into the CUNY Portal at https://cunyportal.cuny.edu
  2. Click on "My Profile" (top right of the screen)
  3. Click on "Modify" (at the top above "User Profile")
  4. Select Queensborough Community College as your primary college
  5. Click on "Save" (above "User Profile")
  6. Log out of the CUNY Portal
  7. Log back into the CUNY Portal
  8. Select the link "Student Advisement Degree Audit"

Check marks indicate whether requirements are met for your program (major + general education).

  1. Did you confirm your intention to enroll at QCC?
    Queensborough Community College requires a $100 non-refundable Commitment Deposit and completed Admissions response form of all new students. To access the Admissions Response PDF Form, please click on the appropriate link reflecting your new student status:
    Freshmen | Transfer Student

  2. Did you take the CUNY Assessment Test (CAT)?
    ALL incoming freshmen are required to take one or more parts of the CUNY Assessment test. New students receive notification from CUNY (University Application Processing Center) as to which test(s) they need to take. The results of these tests become the foundation for the advisement and registration session. If you have not tested yet, you must email admissions@qcc.cuny.edu or call (718) 281.5000 or (631) 281.6358.

  3. Have you been advised and registered for classes?
    If you already completed steps 1 and 2, you should have received an invitation to select an appointment to meet with an adviser who will help you select and register for classes. If you have not received an email invitation, need assistance correcting your email address, or selecting an appointment please call our office at (718) 281.5000 or email us at admissions@qcc.cuny.edu

  • Review Your Financial Aid Package

If you have not already done so, you are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Apply online by going to www.fafsa.gov. Internet access and assistance in filing the FAFSA is available through the QCC Office of Financial Aid.

  • Submit Final Transcripts (Freshmen Only)

    NYC DOE High Schools Students:
    We will receive an electronic version of your final transcript with date of graduation. DO NOT send a final transcript.

    All Other High Schools Students:
    Please send your final high school transcript indicating your graduation date and type of diploma received. The final transcript must include your Application Control Number (“W” number). Transcripts sent without the “W” number will not be accepted and may cause a delay in your enrollment.

  • Submit Immunization Information
    Submit your immunization documents and proof of health insurance. For more information, visit our Health Services page.
