Transfer students are those who have completed course work, or who are currently enrolled, at an undergraduate college or other post-secondary institution including a business, trade or technical school. These students must file the Transfer application (please hyperlink to the CUNY page) for admission and may receive advanced standing for completed course work.
Important: Applicants are required to report attendance at ALL post-secondary institutions, regardless of whether credits were earned. Failure to report all institutions on the application is a violation of University policy and applicants could be barred from attending a CUNY college.
Application are available online, directly with the City University of New York (CUNY).
Applicants who do not have access to a computer may use one in the Admissions office at the College.
Students are strongly encouraged to apply by the priority deadline of September 15th for Spring or February 1st for Fall admission.
Transfer application fee - $70.00 (USD)- Payable by credit card, check or money order.
There is no application fee for current CUNY students. All other transfer students must pay the application fee at the time of application.
Successful Transfer applicants will be in good academic standing at their current or former institution and will have achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
Transfer students who have earned less than a 2.0 GPA may be considered for admission on an individual basis. Please contact the Office of Admissions for information on submitting an admission’s appeal.
Students interested in pursuing Nursing at Queensborough Community College must first be admitted to QCC and must complete te Pre-Clinical sequence with a minimum GPA of 3.0. For additional requirements please consult the Nursing Department’s page on our website.

College credit for courses taken elsewhere will be only granted for:
Newly admitted students who did not register for their first semester, that they originally applied for, may file a REACTIVATION FORM for the following semester. Students who file for Reactivation early gain an advanced start for advisement and registration for the following semester. To obtain a REACTIVATION FORM, please contact the Admissions Office.
The submission of documents in support of applications for admission such as transcripts, diplomas, test scores, references, or the applications themselves, that are forged, fraudulent, altered from the original, obtained under false pretenses, or otherwise deceptive is prohibited and is punishable by a five year bar on applying for admission or five year suspension from CUNY.
A second violation is punishable by a lifetime ban on applying for admission or expulsion from CUNY.
