If you are selected for “Verification”, processing can take up to six weeks once you submit the requested documents.
Once the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has been completed, the information is processed by the U.S. Department of Education and the results are sent to all colleges listed on the FAFSA and to the student. In some cases, the applications are selected by the U.S. Department of Education for a process called “verification.” For these cases, the school will be contacting the student to “verify” all information included on the FAFSA. Students can be asked to provide the following data:
Additional information may be requested, as well, depending upon the specific details of each case.
Please make sure to complete and sign the appropriate worksheet, and mail it to the Office of Financial Services. For those students who have been selected for verification, financial aid awards can not be finalized and credited toward tuition bills until all requested information has been submitted and processed accordingly. All documents are reviewed in the order in which they are received.

In an effort to reduce additional paperwork, please send information listed above only if the Queensborough Community College Office of Financial Services sends a letter requesting the data.
