I am a CUNY graduate and Queens native. I have always loved reading, and getting to work in a field that allows me to chat about literature on a regular basis is a dream come true. My teaching philosophy is lifted from Ralph Waldo Emerson, who said that “the secret of education lies in respecting the pupil.” Working with college students, especially the incredibly diverse, creative, and resilient student population of QCC, gives me real hope for the future. I’ve worked with SWIG (Students Working in Interdisciplinary Groups) for the past few years, and I try to incorporate Universal Design into all of my classes, hopefully making them more and more accessible each year.
