Workshop 1

2/13 from 1-3pm in S207: From 1-2pm, we will host a workshop for faculty and tutors on community-college students with disabilities and the relevance of the ADA to the community-college context. From 2-3pm, SSD and a representative from the Jewish Child Care Association (JCCA) will lead a session on Asperger’s and Autism. Through OAA support, lunch will be served at this workshop.

Workshop 2

3/13 from 1-3pm in Oakland: From 1-2pm, we will host a workshop on compliant, inclusive classrooms and universal design. From 2-3pm, SSD will lead a session on Assistive Technology. Through OAA support, lunch will be served at this workshop.

Workshop 3

4/17 from 1-3pm in L117: From 1-2pm, we will host a workshop on instructional strategies and classroom management techniques for student success. From 2-3pm, we will participate in a customized webinar, on inclusive service-learning, with the National Service Inclusion Project. Through OAA support, lunch will be served at this workshop.

Campus-wide Lecture

4/24 from 2-3pm in S111: We will host a campus-wide lecture by Dr. Carrie Shandra, Assistant Professor of Sociology at Stony Brook University, on young Americans with disabilities. This lecture is designed for students, faculty, and staff. It has been coordinated in conjunction with the Office of Service-Learning’s Earth Day programming.
